To promote the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), this seminar series is held in the major member countries of ASEAN, which is an international-trade-oriented country.

With the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement that came into  effect in January 2022, an increasing number of companies are seeking to take advantage of FTAs. On the other hand, we have seen Japanese SMEs facing three “barriers” (knowledge, process, and internal cooperation) when trying to apply for an FTA (METI 2022). SMEs in ASEAN countries may face similar challenges. Further use of FTAs is needed to promote open and free trade, investment expansion, and economic integration in the ASEAN region.
