GOAL 3Sustainable and responsible tourism

The World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities. ” However, responsible tourism tackles this issue on a personal level. It strives to reduce the negative social, economic, and environmental impacts that tourism has on the local communities . Goal 3 aims to harness tourism’s benefits for recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, as well as achieve the ASEAN Vision 2025 and SDGs.
