The ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Headquarters and DTI Region XII, will host an interactive seminar titled “Enhancing Sustainable Fisheries in BIMP-EAGA @General Santos City, Mindanao, the Philippines” on 23 March 2026 at the Grand Summit Hotel, General Santos City. The seminar is in commemoration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year (70th Anniversary of Normalization of Diplomatic Relations), bringing together businesses, experts, and public sector representatives from Japan and the Philippines to strengthen cooperation in sustainable fisheries and sea-based industries.
The discussion will highlight practical approaches to sustainable fisheries management, marine eco-labeling and certification, export readiness for the Japanese market, and opportunities for business collaboration. Expert presentations and industry insights will be followed by an open discussion and a business matching session to foster partnerships and promote sustainable value chains.
